A drug company had an elaborate kickback scheme involving doctors prescribing drugs to patients in nursing homes. The anti-epileptic drug that was coaxed to doctors to prescribe was depakote. However, the drug company made agreements with doctors to prescribe the drugs to patients and then receive a kickback for providing the drug. The company received kickbacks in the form of direct payments, lavish vacations and sports tickets.
