Nursing homes in one area have been filled with music as a volunteer with a friend in a nursing home realized she had a gift to offer. She began playing for her friend who was lonely and found joy in music. The pianist was asked to come back and play for other patients.
She found other facilities to share music, bringing enjoyment to various patients requesting songs and swaying to the music. “This is just my life now. You get to be my age and you are grateful for anything you can do,” she said. “I love this and I’ve just had a ball doing this.” At 88-years-old, she hopes to play for as long as she is able.
