Nursing Home Placed On Watch List Due To Care Deficiencies

A facility cited for putting residents in a state of immediate jeopardy has been added to a nationwide watch list along with 21 other facilities. An advocate for standards in nursing home care says it is a “nursing home hall of shame”. The nursing home has been fined for nine violations cited in an unannounced survey inspection.

The advocate went on to say, “Inspectors bend over backwards to help deficient facilities become better. It’s clear that the only way [the nursing home] will change is if they’re hit in the wallet.” The facility is appealing the fines and has improved care since the inspection. However, the facility remains on the watch list for the violations that were observed at the time of the inspection. For more, read the story.
