Nursing home residents in one facility are considered to be in immediate jeopardy due to the low standard of care being applied to their well being. Neglect involving issues such as medication errors is a major concern for those residing at the home. One patient had 25 doses of a blood thinner withheld causing immediate jeopardy for that patient. The serious deficiencies of the facility have put their funding in immediate jeopardy as well.
“When conditions determine a need for immediate jeopardy a facility will have the Medicare provider agreement terminated,” said a representative with the State Department of Health. “If the Medicare provider agreement is terminated nursing home residents who are paid for by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid can no longer be cared for in the facility and must be found alternate placements.” The state also released a 67 page report detailing the deficiencies noting immediate jeopardy for the patients at the facility.
