Nursing Home Raises Concerns Of Patients With Scabies

A nursing home facility is being evasive about patients suffering from scabies. The infestation has been kept quiet, despite the health department calling to check on the issue. Spokespersons for the facility state that the test results have not all returned from the five patients believed to be questionable for having scabies. However, administrators would not comment regarding questions about the scabies.

A former nurse at the facility has testified that there are in fact scabies in the nursing home. “And I know that we had a gentleman that had the scabies before I left and it kept going untreated, untreated, untreated,” she said. The concern is that with 79 residents if the scabies spread, it will be difficult to rid the facility of them. For more, read the story
