A nursing home with previously repeated complaints and allegations is experiencing even more complaints. Allegations include undetected rib fractures and the use of a male catheter in a female patient. The rib fractures were incurred when one patient suffering from dementia punched another patient. The fracture went undetected for days.
The female patient that received a male catheter screamed in pain for two hours while the nursing home staff attempted to obtain a urine specimen, as a male catheter is longer than a female catheter. The state health department is investigating for further incidents. For more, read the story.
