One state’s nursing homes facilities seem to be on a downward trend of quality care for their patients. Upon receiving grades requiring improvement, the nursing homes are not provided better care, they are providing worse care. After receiving a grade of C and then downgrading to a D, the advocacy group providing the survey states that the main issue often lies with low staffing.
The state that is struggling requires a staffing rate of 2.7 hours per resident per day, while another state requires 3.6 hours. “So many people have sacrificed blood and sweat and tears for us,” said the executive director of a nursing home advocacy group. “We owe it to them as they live in nursing homes to ensure they’re getting safe care and they’re treated with dignity and respect.” For more, read the story.
