Nursing Home Report Early Release Reveals Abuse Concerns Nationwide

The government's healthcare watchdog has released a preview to a report that will highlight failures to offer adequate care for nursing home patients among skilled nursing facilities across the country. The early release shows that based on inspections the office found 134 cases of abuse that include rape and sexual assault. 

“Due to the importance and urgency of the preliminary findings,” the office said, “OIG is alerting citizens of potential cases of patient neglect and abuse in these facilities, many of which are temporary residences for our nation’s most vulnerable people.” For more, read the story
