Nursing Home Resident In Critical Condition After Being Beaten By Roommate

An elderly nursing home resident is in critical condition after being brutally beaten by his roommate. The 86-year-old man was beaten with a large magnet tied to a string by his 87-year-old roommate who believed he had been stealing from him. 

According to police, the roommate was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. The victim remains in critical condition following the incident. Police plan to elevate the charges if the victim does not recover. He suffered injuries to his face, wrist, ribs, and a punctured lung. For more, read the story.
