A baby kangaroo, also known as a wallaby, is bringing smiles to veterans at a local nursing home. The wallaby as part of a program involving animals to bring love and humanity to nursing home residents. Nursing home residents have the benefit of lowered blood pressure and loving interaction that reduces the sterile nature of a nursing home.
“When you live in a nursing home, you want it to be as close to living at home as possible,” said the nursing home administrator, who keeps the baby kangaroo at her home each night. “It should contain spontaneity and love and that's all part of the culture here.
