A nursing home lawsuit settled for $900,000 after at 36-years-old. The patient was non-verbal and unable to speak to her needs or neglect. She was allowed to suffer various forms of neglect and abuse from physical to sexual. The patient even contracted an STD from sexual abuse.
The facility failed to report incidents involving the patient, including the STD. The patient's doctor admittedly never reported the patient's STD to authorities. Because a rape kit test was not done at the time(s) sexual abuse occurred, the perpetrator will not be pursued. The patient's mother is still grieving the mistreatment and death of her daughter.
