Nursing Home Settles Wrongful Death Lawsuit For $875,000

A nursing home patient was allowed to suffer a choking hazard while eating at a nursing home. The patient was eating food that did not comply with his diet. The nursing home allowed him to eat unsupervised when he choked and died. 

The family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the nursing home faulting lack of training and understaffing. The nursing home settled for $875,000 stating it would “take steps to ensure this would never happen again”.  For more, read the story.
