Nursing Home Staff Neglected to Perform CPR on Multiple Residents, Despite Facility Policy

One nursing home prompted an investigation by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”) after two patients died under staff care. According to records from CMS, neither patient had a Do Not Resuscitate order and no advance directive. The deaths were not timely nor expected, and one resident was even scheduled to be released in the near future.

After the investigation, the nursing home reportedly had many more deficiencies. Some of the deficiencies included failure to administer medications accurately and failure to adhere to specific doctors’ orders. For more, read the story.
