Three nursing home caregivers were sentenced to 60 days in jail for verbally and physically abusing a patient in their care. The nursing staff slapped and splashed water on the patient, threatening to splash urine instead. The patient died a month later.
Although the abuse was more than unfortunate, it was fortunate that the patient told his son about the poor treatment and the nursing staff was secretly recorded on video. However, the abuse was not eliminated or dealt with until after the patient died. For more, read the story.
