Nursing Home Staff Work To Improve Care With Management

Nursing home staff that are part of a union are interested in working with nursing home management to fix staffing problems related to nursing home care. Staffing shortages and low pay rates of less than $10 an hour are making it difficult for nurses to maintain positions and provide quality care to patients. These concerns are all focused on one particular nursing home. 

 The nursing home employee union representative believes improvement on staffing would improve overall care.  “The turnover means that we are constantly understaffed,” he said. “Showing people the ropes all the time makes it hard for us to do our work.” For more, read the story
