The family of a nursing home patient who died after a physical altercation with another resident is suing the facility for wrongful death, according to a press release issued last week by the family’s lawyers. According to the lawsuit, the facility failed to protect the patient from physical abuse and failed to provide appropriate supervision.
The man, an 80-year-old resident of the facility was assaulted by a fellow resident, 66, with a violent criminal record and felony background. The victim died in February after sustaining head injuries during the fight at the facility two days earlier. For more, read the story.
