The family of a nursing home patient is suing the nursing home for mistreatment and abuse of their loved one. The family asserts that the facility subjected the patient to eight years of abuse, mistreatment, and neglect. One incident was the last straw for the family, proving the suspicions in their minds.
The family was called saying the patient had a fall, but the injuries were more consistent with being beaten. The patient was sent to the hospital and then transferred to another facility where the family could be closer to check on her. “We hope to find out in discovery what happened to her,” said the family's attorney. “This should not happen in a nursing home.
