Nursing Home Theft Leads To Arrest

A nursing home worker was arrested for stealing from a patient’s trust fund. The total theft amount was $2,470. The theft was discovered during an unannounced audit of the patient’s trust fund. Theft in the first degree is considered a class C felony with a possible prison sentence.

The employee acted as a social services assistant for the patient and wrote check to herself, making fake purchases. She falsified receipts to make the appearance items had been purchased for the patient, when in fact, they had not. For more, read the story
