A review of theft in three separate cases shows that justice can be served alongside a rise in nursing home theft. One case involved stealing drugs from patients. The nursing home employee pleaded guilty to stealing opioid patches from a terminally ill patient. As a result, he lost his license to care for the terminally ill.
Another case involved nursing home employees stealing from nursing home patients. The employee was caught and arrested for stealing jewelry and other valuable items and pawning them. A third case involved nursing home management stealing from investors with over $20 million funneled out of nursing home and retirement funds.
