A nursing home therapy provider has settled claims for falsifying records of therapy provided to patients. at $125 million. The therapy company is the largest nursing home rehabilitation provider. The company had nursing homes submit documents for Medicare reimbursement,when they knowingly did not provide the therapy services accounted for in the documents.
Nursing home owners also had to pay $8 million to settle the accusations. Whistleblowers prompted a government led investigation into the issue. For more, read the story.
