A nursing home facility whose license has been revoked is now under investigation for Medicaid fraud. The state revoked the license after several deficiencies and violations were identified. Patients were not receiving prescribed medication, lacking food, and failing to receive proper hygiene, which in some cases led to bed sores. One patient died because he was fed pizza when a doctor had ordered a pureed food diet only.
In addition to the violations, family members came forward to note that their loved ones were not receiving care that was being billed to Medicaid. The facility is now being investigated for their multi-million dollar reimbursements. For more, read the story.
