Nursing Home Violations Lead To Loss Of Medicare And Medicaid Funding

A nursing home will be losing its Medicare and Medicaid funding due to a number of violations. Various events including altercations between residents and workers will also result in relocations for 37 people living in the facility. “There were a number of altercations between residents where residents were harmed, kicked by other residents, hit in the head by other residents,”said a representative for the State Department of Aging.

The violations have gone uncorrected leaving the officials with little choice. “They really haven’t offered a reason (for not correcting it’s violations),” she said. “That’s really part of the problem. They’re not really able to accurately identify what’s going wrong so they can correct it.” For more, read the story.
