A nursing home worker was arrested Thursday morning after she struck a 65-year-old nursing home resident across the left side of her face with a closed fist, according to the arrest affidavit.
The nursing assistant allegedly went in the woman’s room to change the victim’s socks. At some point a
co-worker heard yelling, walked in and said the aide had punched the
victim in the face. When that co-worker asked why – the report says the aide responded, “She hit me first.”
The resident suffers from
Parkinson’s disease and dementia, according to authorities. She had been fired after the incident, which occurred on June 26th. For more, read the story.
