A 19-year-old nursing home worker has been arrested for sexually assaulting an 89-year-old patient. The incident was reported to police and an investigation ensued. The worker was accused of inappropriately touching the elderly resident, as well as being charged with one count of object sexual penetration.
The director of the state center on aging had this to say, “Abuse of older adults is a growing problem. It’s also one that has been very invisible. If it’s sexual abuse it may be bruises in places like the inner thigh, it may be unexplained sexually transmitted diseases.” For more, read the story.
