Nursing Homes May Be Required To Provide More Services To Patients

Nursing homes may be experiencing some changes due to new requirements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Proposals are underway for changes that involve patient’s rights staying in nursing home facilities. One of the proposed changes involves visiting hours. If the proposed plan goes into effect, visitors will be welcome 24 hours a day just as they would in someone’s house.

In addition, patients would be able to select their roommates. They would also be able to select the format in which medical records are provided. This could require additional electronic record keeping if the records must be provided in electronic form. For more, read the story
