Nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Orlando, Florida prepare for the COVID-19 vaccine, and residents be among the first vaccinated in Florida. They are expected to receive about 180,000 doses this week. One facility, the Beggs Pointe Assisted Living, is home to 12 residents who will be among the first to receive the vaccine. Homes were instructed to choose a pharmacy to administer the vaccine.

Consent forms were sent 10 days before staff arrive to set up and administer the vaccine through a mini-clinic. While some are skeptical, they are encouraged by the 95% effectivity rate of the vaccine.
