In Owasso, Oklahoma, a local woman has rallied the community to encourage local nursing home residents. Tina Jones created a Facebook group aimed at “serving the elderly while they’re in quarantine or self-isolation during the pandemic.” The group has donated items to keep residents warm and cozy during the winter, and is currently still collecting donations, including “blankets, pajamas, sodas and snacks, games and more.”
In addition, Jones partnered with a local school to send “specially made cards of appreciation.” Jones’s goal is to continue to increase her group’s membership, and to expand to more elder care facilities across Owasso.
