One Patient Dead, 37 Hospitalized After Nursing Home Power Outage

According to authorities, one person has died after a power outage struck a nursing home and backup generators failed. A spokesman for the electricity company says 37 patients on ventilators were taken to hospitals from the nursing home after the power outage struck early Sunday.

The patient who died had a do-not-resuscitate order in place at the time of the outage. The outage lasted about two hours and affected more than 4,300 residential and commercial customers. For more, read the story.
