One State Mentioned in Federal Government Audit as Deficient in Nursing Home Care

According to a recent report, one state was cautioned by the federal government to improve its nursing home health and safety measures.   According to this report, many regulations were not being implemented by nursing home administration, resulting in various violations across health and safety standards.   The report mentions that the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) released the report.    

Among the deficiencies include defective alarms and/or detectors within the facilities, unsuitable plans for emergency situations, and various other health violations.   The state’s Department of Health commented about OIG’s findings stating, “With respect to the audit’s recommendations, the Department agrees with the goals of the recommendations and will consider implementing them as appropriate.   For more, read the story.
