A recent report released by one state’s Auditor General claims the state’s health leaders have failed to sufficiently investigate claims against nursing home facilities where abuse and neglect had been reported. According to this report, instances going back to 2017 were cited as unsolved complaints against purported abuse and neglect.
“The report makes sweeping statements about public health and safety risks and is a non-representative sample that looks at five long-term care facilities representing less than 1% of all the licenses the department regulates,” said a state official in response to the report.
