Organization for Seniors is Urging One State to Support Legislation to Improve Seniors’ Quality of Life

One state is setting the bar low for providing quality nursing home care. According to one organization for seniors, this is due to a few factors: the over-administering of non-prescribed anti-psychotic drugs, low ratings of care provided by nurses, and high costs for residents’ living.

There are two pending bills that may improve quality of care for seniors, according to the organization for seniors. If passed, one bill would require an actual diagnosis before administering anti-psychotic drugs. The second bill would make available several alternatives to nursing home care for seniors.
