Patients Receive Poor Nursing Home Care Bringing Citations

Three nursing home patients received poor quality care after being transferred from a state mental hospital that closed. Injuries sustained by the patients included severe dehydration, a broken leg, and a collapsed lung. The patients’ families were shocked at the lack of care and extremely disappointed. One family especially received a shock as their loved one died as a result of his injuries.

The nursing home faces up to $13,500 in fines. The administrator would not comment on the incidents involving the patients, but did state that they would be appealing the state survey citations. For more, read the story
