The closing of this home reflects a larger ongoing crisis occurring with nursing homes set to close as a result of COVID-19. A recent study reported that “40 percent [of surveyed nursing homes] said they’re at risk of closing within six months.” Many argue that the “government must step in to avoid cascading closures” following the COVID-19 pandemic and shut downs.
