A woman is suing a nursing home, claiming its neglect and substandard treatment led to her mother’s death. The woman, who is suing on behalf of her mother’s estate, claims the Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center neglected her mother. The alleged neglect includes pressure sores that developed while the woman was a resident at the facility.
The daughter claims that her mother’s wounds worsened over the next month, eventually leading to her mother’s hospitalization. The wounds were treated with some success, but ultimately became infected and lead to her death in January 2009. The daughter has said the facility allegedly failed to adequately observe, assess, diagnose and treat her mother, eventually causing her death. For more, read the story.
