Senior Home Resident Wanders, Freezes To Death

A 98-year-old woman at a senior home has died after wandering from her apartment. The resident was noticed missing by a nurse checking on her the morning after she wandered away. Upon finding her after sustaining freezing temperatures overnight, the senior home staff called 911.

Unfortunately, the woman did not make it to the hospital and died. The home says they are looking into their policies to identify potential changes in protocol to prevent repeat incidents similar to the resident that wandered away and froze to death. Currently, policies in place do not prevent wandering. For more, read the story
