Six Former Nursing Home Staff Charged With Fraud, Obtaining Residents’ Prescription Medications for Personal Use

Six former nursing home employees were formally charged this month following the alleged theft of residents’ prescription medications. According to a news release, drugs intended for the residents of the nursing home were allegedly withheld by these employees for their personal use. Prosecutors are also attempting to prove that medical documents were forged regarding the administering of drugs to the residents.

The former employees are currently facing charges such as fraud, acquiring controlled substances by misrepresentation, and false statements regarding medical documentation and health care, among others. Only one of the former employees has pleaded guilty while the five others plead not guilty to the charges. For more, read the story.
