Six nursing home facilities in one state have been fined for standard of care violations in treating nursing home patients. The fines ranged from approximately $1,500 to $1,900. Some violations involved allowing patients to suffer falls with fractures, as well as dehydration and renal failure.
Other care violations involved a patient suffering abrasions after being struck in the mouth several times by a nurse and a nurse who offered illegal drugs to a patient in exchange for sexual favors. For more, read the story.
