Son Believes Mother’s Pressure Ulcer May Have Caused Her Death, Hospital Re-evaluates Protocol

A woman has died after spending over a year in between hospital walls. While in the hospital, the decedent developed a terrible pressure ulcer which exposed her bone and expressed a foul odor. The survived children described their mother as very active before she was admitted to the hospital after breaking her hip in her own home.   

According to the decedent’s son, he believes the pressure ulcer was one cause of his mother’s death. Since this woman’s death, the hospital has claimed to have reexamined its measures regarding the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. For more, read the story.
