A state attorney is prosecuting a nursing home chain for fraud stating the staffing levels made it impossible to provide the care it alleges it gave to its patients. Using time management studies, the attorney is showing how the daily care needs could not have been completed for the amount of patients residing at the facility, based on the amount of time it takes to provide each type of care. The types of care studied include bathing, feeding, and turning and repositioning patients.
Neglect was identified with patients in the nursing home facility including dirty bed linens, falls, and even death. The families of patients who suffered the neglect are participating in the state attorney’s lawsuit and providing testimony. For more, read the story.
