Looking back at the past year, one state has experienced a high level of state health care deficiencies as a result of nursing home inspections. Due to the deficiencies, 19 nursing homes were placed on provisional licenses with 32 fines. These numbers are double or triple the year prior.
“While some important steps have been taken,” said the state secretary of health, “there is a lot of work ahead of us if we are to achieve our goals of delivering care and protecting our seniors.” These issues are being made more prevalent by lawsuits issued against a nursing home chain with numerous facilities within the state responsible for the fines and provisional statuses.
