According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, two nursing homes were fined as a part of a quarterly report for violations. The reports state that in the months from July to September of 2019, it cited 71 Illinois facilities for various violations in regards to the Nursing Home Care Act. The Nursing Home Care Act was implemented to ensure that nursing home residents and their families will have proper care provided by the facilities.
Eastside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pittsfield, Illinois was cited on June 20, 2019, for observations of abuse and neglect from staff, by not implementing a proper produced to prevent pressure sores, heat rashes, and other skin breakdowns by not turning or repositioning two individuals who were in need of round the clock care.
Another facility, Heritage Health of Jacksonville, Illinois, was cited on June 27, 2019, for observation of abuse and neglect for also not properly preventing pressure sores, heat rashes, and other skin breakdowns by not turning or repositioning for a resident of the facility who suffered from immobility.
