Veteran Falls, Suffers Fracture; Nursing Home Sued for Wrongful Death

A veteran with a history of falls fell at a nursing home and suffered a hip fracture. Injuries documented from the fall only included a right shoulder and hand fracture. However, later when the patient voiced pain in his hip, x-rays were given with only Tylenol administered for the pain. The patient was then sent to the hospital 12 hours after the fall upon realizing the fracture.

The veteran died just a week after the fall. In addition to the fracture, the patient suffered skin tears and weight loss. The family filed a lawsuit blaming the facility for the veteran’s death. For more, read the story.
