Video Cameras Made Available To Family Members Of Patients

State officials are offering cameras to families of nursing patients in order to record care they receive.  Family members are allowed to have the video cameras for 30 days to secretly record caregivers caring for their loved ones.  The recordings can then be handed to the attorney eneral's office to prosecute against any neglect or abuse.

The cameras must not have audio in order to avoid violating wiretap laws. The idea of handing cameras out from the state is causing controversy, but family members appreciate the opportunity to protect their loved ones. For more, read the story.
