A woman in Clifford, North Dakota brightened many peoples’ days at a Mayville nursing home this past Saturday as she spread holiday cheer to residents. Melinda Martin organized a “window-to-window parade and asked others to bring pets, signs reading ‘Merry Christmas,’ ‘We are thinking of you,’ or other cheerful messages” to share the holiday spirit with residents. The parade was made up of locals and their four-legged friends- even a few horses came along for the fun.
Another resident dressed up as Santa Claus, while three local firefighters brought their fire truck. Martin explained that “the afternoon event was a way ‘to bring some holiday cheer to the residents.'” She makes a point to do good works habitually to brighten others’ day, including starting food bank drives and Christmas parties for furloughed workers.
