Two nursing home patients died after chest x-rays were misinterpreted by amateur employees without the proper knowledge or qualifications to interpret them. The owner of the x-ray company now faces 10 years in prison. Under his leadership, employees interpreted x-rays and falsified physician reports.
The company also under the owner's leadership requested reimbursements for performing the x-rays and submitting reports. The two patients who died had congestive heart failure that went unnoticed. Each died less than a week after their x-rays were taken. For more, read the story.
