A few young people in connection with various nursing homes have been charged with felonies for stealing checks from nursing home residents and using them for personal purchases. The reasons for stealing and illegally writing the checks ranged from buying drugs to providing for daily needs in lieu of having a job. The young people were giving excuses for needing the money.
One young man took the checks from a resident where his aunt is the administrator. Another young lady took the checks from her own grandmother. For more, read the story.
