The former administrator of an assisted living facility has been sentenced to prison for abusing a patient to the point of death. The patient suffered from dementia and two weeks after an incident with the administrator leading to her arrest. Another wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against a nursing home chain for allowing patient negligence leading to death. The patient was allowed to die just days after being admitted. The patient underwent leg surgery and according to the family should have been fitted for a breathing tube.

Two caregivers have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder after a patient in their care died from sepsis. The patient lost half his body weight from malnourishment. He developed severe bedsores which led to the sepsis that caused his death.
