A nursing home patient has died and three nursing home workers have been arrested.  The patient had a ventilator alarm go off for more than 9 minutes. The ventilator upon which the patient relied disconnected cutting off the ability to breath. The nursing home workers were required by law to respond although they did not.

Nursing Home Neglect Leads To Patient In ICU

A nursing home chain has been under fire recently after a woman was sent to ICU based on her husband’s action upon seeing her deteriorate in just a matter of 2 days. “We visited her on Monday, to find her sitting in a wheelchair in a seemingly catatonic state, trembling uncontrollably, mumbling jibberish with her eyes rolling back in her head,” her husband recalled. “My two children and I had last visited her Saturday, two days prior, and left her in good spirits.

Nursing Home Citation May Lead To Loss of Medicare Certification

A nursing home cited for “actual harm in the areas of quality of care and nursing services,” may lose its Medicare certification soon if it does not reverse the lack of quality care based on a state department of health survey. The nursing home allowed some individuals to be harmed while leaving others in “immediate jeopardy”. The facility was fined $9,591 for the immediate jeopardy citation and $2,353 daily for other citations after that. New Federal Nursing Home Regulations Raise The Standard Of Care
