Nursing Home Abuse Leads To Sentencing Of Employees

A former nursing home employee has been sentenced for abusing a patient at the nursing home where she worked. Along with another co-worker, she taunted the 76-year-old patient with Alzheimer’s. The patient was forced to punch himself in the face, while trying to fight off the two nursing assistants.  One convicted nursing assistant will serve 18 months in prison and five years’ probation.

Nursing Home Employee Snapchat Of Patient Leads To Termination And Charges

A nurse assistant at a nursing home was fired recently for posting a snapchat video of a patient nearly nude. The patient had dementia and was sitting in bed “in a bra and no underwear and no pants.” The nursing assistant admitted to the video and said the act “was immoral and very terribly wrong.” An investigation took place as soon as officials were alerted about the video. The administration was made aware and the nurse now faces up to 31/2 years in prison.
