The sister of one of the patients probed and invited the department of health to investigate after the incident went unspoken by the administrator. The administrator decided the sexual interaction was mutual, leaving the incident unreported.

A nursing home facility has worked hard to open its doors after closing them to new admissions. State officials fined the facility $90,000 over a period of 18 months. Incidents leading to the fines included pressure ulcers which ended severely for one patient with a toe amputation. The facility made a plan of correction approved by the state.
Senior Home Resident Wanders, Freezes To Death
A 98-year-old woman at a senior home has died after wandering from her apartment. The resident was noticed missing by a nurse checking on her the morning after she wandered away. Upon finding her after sustaining freezing temperatures overnight, the senior home staff called 911. Unfortunately, the woman did not make it to the hospital and died.
Nursing Home Employee Steals $16,000 From Patient
A nursing home worker was arrested on counts of larceny and forgery. The nursing home employee embezzled money from a patient in her care. Police found that the worker had forged 66 checks and multiple ATM withdrawals from the 79-year-old patient. During the investigation, the patient died.

Nursing Home Assault Leads To Investigation And Fine
A caregiver has been charged with two counts of assault after witnesses observed him sexually assaulting a patient. The witnesses were co-workers that approached the nursing home worker to aid with a patient. The co-workers reported the administrator after the worker committing assault ended his shift. The nursing home received a double fine in the amount of $2,200 for the assault noting that patients were put at “high-risk”.
